A $76K federal Safe Routes to School grant implemented extensive educational programming, advocacy, incentives, and infrastructure to encourage safe walking and bicycling routes to area schools. Organized as a coalition between urban planning , public works, public health, law enforcement, and public health staff, the project has dramatically increased the numbers of kids walking and bicycling school while reducing traffic. The website I created serves as a central portal for community members to be stay informed on the topic and free events.
